Jackie Martin
Organ, Piano and ZI Director
Jackie loves music and has fun with a great variety of forms. She grew up in Kansas City,
Kansas and began musical training at 3. She has been accompanying church
music groups since 4th grade, as well as playing for community theater, opera and
dance studios. She has been a member or founder of several youth, civic, and
community music organizations. She taught public school music in
three states.
Jackie holds Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees from
Pittsburg (Kansas) State University with
specialties in clarinet and organ. She is a member of the
Twin Cities chapter of the
American Guild of Organists. She came to Zion in 2000.
Jackie is mom to a daughter and a son (both adults). Her main interest is helping
her son who received a traumatic brain injury in 1987. She enjoys reading,
attending movies and listening to music — but most of all, just being with
others!
Mark Anderson
Sunday School Director
As one of the first children baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, Mark has a long, dedicated history
with the church. Mark believes his job is to create an environment where
children are encouraged to develop a relationship with the Lord. He
feels the Sunday School experience is vital to children and is the start of
their journey with Jesus. Mark is married, has three daughters, and
lives in Cottage Grove.

Gina Olson
Director, Senior Choir
& Kids of the Kingdom
Gina joined Zion Lutheran Church in the fall of 1984. The following year, she took
on the position of Kids of the Kingdom Choir Director. She sees music
ministry as a means for improving self-esteem in children. She is committed to
sharing with each child at worship how important they are to God and to the Church.
Gina, a native of Madison, Wisconsin, holds a BA in Music Education and French from
Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Along-side her
church activities, she teaches piano privately in her home.
Gina and her husband have two musically-talented young adult daughters who are active
in church as well. Gina enjoys quilting and other needlecraft, decorating, and
desktop publishing. She and her family also partake in her husband’s passion —
sailing Lake Pepin.
Kim Roeker
Teacher — Kiddie Kampus
Kimberly graduated with her Masters of Science degree in Communicative
Disorders from the University of Wisconsin — River Falls. She feels
passionate about the children’s ministry programs at Zion and is involved
with many aspects of the programs including teaching for Kiddie Kampus
Preschool. Kimberly’s philosophy for teaching children is to “lead young
learners to the Lord.”
When she is not teaching she enjoys working in the library at her son’s
school, reading, scrap-booking, and, most of all, playing with her
children. Kimberly is married and has a son and daughter.
