Sermons
We all have a legacy we have received. For some of us it is a long one, for others a rather recent one. We can steward that legacy and pass it on to our children, just as the Children of Israel did for thousands of years |
God gives his goodness (righteousness) to you when you believe in him. You can actually see it in your behavior and the behavior of other believers. (though it does have to contend with our natural sinfulness as well as the world, sin, death, and our Adversary). |
Pilate had a problem with competing kingdoms. Jesus' kingdom was of a sort he had never seen. His kingdom was of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The impact on us is profound! |

Even a major event like a wedding cannot turn Jesus from his vision. He encourages us to keep our focus as well, despite the bumps along the way. Trust God to deal with the bumps. Mary did! |
Jesus told those of his hometown that his mission was to bind up the broken-hearted. That's our mission as well. |
Jesus on a mission! And actually we also share in that mission today. |
Good News, Bad News. Our attitude makes a difference! |
Our experiences of God are very important. The signs of God's presence among us testify to his activity on our behalf. It's not just a theological talking point. By these signs God encourages us to believe and trust in him. |
Our intern Mary Ellen Steinkraus preached. |
God's work among us had a paradoxical appearance. Some of it seems to be contradictory. But there is a rhyme and reason to God's ways among us! |
The things we do for each other are not nearly as important as the intimacy we share. The same is true in our relationship with God. To Know Christ and the power of his resurrection trumps everything else. |
Being fully human, Jesus understands completely, what it is like being rejected and despised. There we can come to him in prayer with full assurance of being understood and being heard. |
What word is going out? Does it give glory to God, or does it discourage the flock? It makes a difference whether God is honored for his work, or not. |
We apologize for all the gaps in the sermon series. We have had major problems with our sound board this past year.
